the many faces of nino

first two images taken using super-takumar 135mm f3.5, while the rest are with smc takumar 55mm f1.8 (the fourth image is with the addition of an el-cheapo vivitar 2x teleconverter, hence the bad chromatic abberations). all taken with the lens wide-open. it is interesting to note the differences in characteristics between these 2 lenses.

untitled

not sure about the flower's name. blindly googling for "bunch of white flowers with green tips" didn't yield any positive id. oh well... these were taken last year during the penang floral fest 2008 end of november.

nice sunset without a nice camera

taken on the way back from work. the sun was such a fabulous large orange ball in the sky, yet all the phone's camera managed to capture was some blown highlights in place of the sun. sucks...

liveview loop

not sure what the rectangle in the image really is. i simply set the camera on remote liveview mode and display the feed on my lappie, and then set the lens to closest focus and point it at the onscreen video feed. essentially the camera keeps on re-capturing what it has just seen a moment ago, but what actually is it seeing in the first place? the rectangle is moving around, fading in and out of view - sort of like a screensaver animation. a jerky animation, that is - due to the crappy framerate of the usb liveview feed. hmm...
