Penang Botanical Garden

went with a collegue to try out his new S5IS. it's obviously a whole lot better than my puny A710IS, but i still wish for a Panasonic FZ50, if only i can afford it...

and btw, a replacement for A710IS, A720IS, has been announced by Canon recently - which means that my cam is EOL... not much difference though, it still uses the exact same lens, but with DIGIC III processor.

there's a lot of flowers on the cannonball trees (Couroupita guianensis) this time around, but hardly any fruits.. and oh, i did not damage the flower just to capture the normally hidden part in one of the pic below; someone else did it - one of the monkeys, perhaps?

and the late morning sun cast an interesting shadow of myself on the ground...

and lastly, a pattern on a plant's stem - reminds me of the thing sun wu kong wears on his head, plus there's a lot of monkeys there...
